In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth. — Psalm 90:6

I love the feeling of a fresh morning. There is just something special about it. I love the sound of going outside and hearing the birds chirping. It is an amazing feeling to sip on a cup of coffee as I start out the new day. Each day is a fresh start and can give a new outlook or experience in life.

Our bodies were designed and created to be refreshed overnight. As we sleep, our body repairs, regains strength, and recovers from the stress and chaos of the day before. But this verse is not specifically talking about a morning in that sense. It is talking about life. It is referencing how our lives fade as we get older. We all start out young and strong, but soon, that strength gives way.

We start out our lives full of energy. Many of us set out with ideas of accomplishing great things, perhaps even conquering the world. As we age, that energy changes and fades. But that doesn’t mean that we have no use or purpose in life. Instead, it is a reminder that we take advantage of the morning in our life.

While our souls may live forever in heaven, our earthly bodies will fail and age. Every moment and every breath that we have, we should be living for God. We should live our lives for Him in a way where we have no regrets later in life.

As you reflect on your life, are you taking advantage of the moments in your life and living for God? Each day is an opportunity we are given to live for Him. Don’t put off living for God; take advantage of the morning!
