The protection of God

The protection of God
Share with others

Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. — Psalm 32:7

My family and I love our pets. We have several dogs that we share our home with. Each one has a unique personality and perspective that they bring to our home. One is wild and crazy, scared of nothing. Another is the protector, watching over the house and alerting you to anything that may move. Then there is the loner. One who never wants to get out of bed and simply enjoys her life.

While they each have a unique perspective and personality, they also have unique tendencies when they become scared. One will run to my wife, never leaving her side. The others tend to find a hiding place. They will run to somewhere they feel safe and secure until the trouble is over.

It’s so amazing to watch them as they scatter quickly when they become scared of a noise or circumstance. They quickly run to their hiding place, seeking safety and security. If only we could be so quick to act the same way in our own times of trouble!

Many times, we run, looking for comfort and solace in the things of this world. We look to share our thoughts with others, get their opinions, and even listen to their advice. While there is a time and place for others, why does it seem we so often ignore our place of comfort from the trouble of life?

As a child of God, we have a hiding place in Him. It is a comfort and protection from the dangers and cares of this life. Instead of running to everyone and everything else, we should immediately go to Him!

Are you facing dangers and struggles in life? if so, where are you going for protection? Instead of seeking a hiding place in this world, run to God! Find comfort in your hiding place, where He will protect you from the troubles of life.
