I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. — Philippians 3:14

When I would travel for one of my previous jobs, I often found myself driving through very large cities. It wasn’t uncommon for me to fly into Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Dallas, or Miami. I would fly into those airports, rent a car, and start on my journey. Like most people who travel, I would live by the GPS app on my phone. I needed to know where I was going in these areas I was unfamiliar with.

As I sat down in the car, the first thing I would do was plug in the cable to the car and my phone. It would locate where I was, and soon, I was on my way. But what I often learned is that as I started on the way, the GPS would often recalculate the route.

There were accidents ahead that I was not aware of. My course would be directed around things that might slow me down and delay me from reaching my destination. Traffic was often a nightmare in these cities, and my GPS would find a way for me to avoid those areas.

For Christians, that is often how our lives are. We start our journey at the cross of calvary. Once we are saved, we are plugged in and starting on our Christian journey, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Life is often filled with distractions, delays, and rerouting around things.

But the most important thing is that we continue pressing on through life. We know the prize that lies ahead for us. We should never give up and quit, no matter where the detour may take us. God is perfectly guiding us through this life, and we must trust Him as we continue pressing on through life.

Across the world, Christians need the encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue its work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
