O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke. — Jeremiah 15:15

Several times, I recall someone saying, “Do you know what I am going through?” One such occasion was a few years ago when I spoke with an employee who seemed to be struggling. They were extremely detail-oriented, thorough, and overall one of the best employees I ever had. But to be honest, I had no idea what they were going through.

Until then, they had not shared what was on their mind. I had no idea of the personal turmoil they were in. They proceeded to share all that was going on in their life. I did my best to listen, share encouragement, and try to help them as they faced the difficulty. It helped me understand, so I knew how to help them.

We often hear words such as these when someone is facing a difficult time. But in our capabilities, we don’t always understand or see what others are facing. Unless someone shares what they are going through, we may be oblivious to what is happening in each other’s lives.

Which is why we can be so thankful it is not that way with God. I love the words of Jeremiah here when he says, God, you know! God knows exactly what we are going through, what we are struggling with, and all that we face. Nothing catches God by surprise!

Maybe it seems like no one around you understands. Maybe you feel no one is listening or knows what you are facing. But God does! He understands every single detail. Instead of questioning if He knows or if He cares, trust Him. Let Him be God in your situation and circumstance.

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
