One of the first homes that my wife and I purchased after marriage was quite a fixer-upper. The home was a foreclosure, requiring us to do a significant amount of repairs before moving in. We remodeled the entire kitchen, replaced almost all the flooring, and did a lot of sheetrock repair and painting.
As we were purchasing the paint for the house, I remember standing and trying to decide how much paint we needed. The home wasn’t very large, but there were high ceilings in a few rooms that would require additional paint. As the guy at the hardware store helped, he made the statement, “That should be more than enough.”
As we started painting the home, I quickly realized that we were using more paint than was anticipated. If I didn’t know better, I would have thought the walls in this house were drinking the paint! Soon, my wife was on her way back to the store to buy more paint.
There are many times in our lives when we may not realize how much of something we need. This is especially true when it comes to the grace of God to face circumstances in life. It often seems as though the circumstances become more difficult and challenging over time, and many times, we may grow concerned about how we will make it through.
But God’s grace is sufficient! God has more than enough grace to get you through any circumstance and situation in life. So don’t be discouraged that you find yourself facing a challenging circumstance. Because of that situation in your life, you get the opportunity to experience more of the grace of God in your life. Grace that is more than enough to get you through whatever you may be facing.
