You Are Not as Alone as You Feel.
If it feels like no one’s close right now, let’s sit with that together for a minute.
“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” — Deuteronomy 31:6
Loneliness doesn’t always mean you’re actually by yourself. You can be in a full room and still feel like no one really sees you. You can have people who love you and still feel like you’re the only one carrying what you’re carrying.
Maybe you moved somewhere new and haven’t found your footing yet.
Maybe a relationship ended, or drifted, or was never quite what you needed it to be.
Maybe you’re going through something nobody else quite understands, even the people closest to you.
Feeling alone can quietly turn into believing you are alone — including by God. That’s a heavier thought, and it isn’t true.
These words were spoken to a whole nation standing at the edge of something unknown, about to walk into a future they couldn’t fully see. Moses was handing leadership to Joshua. The people were afraid. And this is what they were told before they took a single step forward: the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee.
Not behind you, checking in occasionally. Not somewhere far off, aware but distant. With you. Going where you go.
That promise wasn’t only for people crossing into a new land a long time ago. It’s carried forward for anyone who belongs to God — a promise that doesn’t expire, and doesn’t depend on how strong or steady you feel today.
He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Not “if you have enough faith.” Not “once you feel better.” Just — He will not.
Take a slow breath.
You don’t have to pretend you’re fine. You don’t have to explain your loneliness to feel it less. You just have to remember you’re not actually walking through this by yourself, even when it feels that way.
Whisper it if it helps: “God, I feel so alone right now. Remind me You’re still here.”
You are not as alone as you feel.
