And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus… — Colossians 3:17
Everyday life is filled with ordinary moments. The routine moments where we simply wake up, get ready for our day. Perhaps it is the drive into work for the day or catching up on things around the house. These ordinary moments are no accident in our lives. They are divinely ordered by God.
It is easy to believe that living for God must look extraordinary. That it requires grand gestures or dramatic obedience. But Scripture reminds us that faith is often expressed in the most common parts of life. God is not only present in moments of worship or decision, but in how we live, speak, and act throughout the day.
When we choose to honor God in our words, our work, and our relationships, the ordinary becomes meaningful. Living for God is not about escaping everyday life, but about inviting God into it. It is about reflecting Christ in patience, kindness, integrity, and humility, even when the moment feels small or unnoticed.
Colossians calls us to do all in the name of the Lord Jesus. That includes conversations, responsibilities, and tasks that feel routine. Nothing is too insignificant to be offered to God. In His hands, even the simplest acts become expressions of faith.
If today feels uneventful or predictable, take heart. God is at work in these moments. A life lived for Him is not built in a single day, but formed over time through steady obedience and trust.
What ordinary moment today can you intentionally offer to God?
