Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! — Philippians 4:4
It wasn’t long ago I felt like I was listening to something on repeat. My son had something on his mind and he kept repeating it over and over. I was a little confused with what he was doing at the moment. Part of me wanted to think he was just trying to test my patience.
Soon, I realized he had this statement on his mind and he was simply repeating it. He thought it was catchy, and it was something important to him. So he continued to repeat it over and over again.
I often think about repetition when I think on these words in Philippians. The verse shares to rejoice in the Lord. But then we are told to repeat it, by rejoicing over and over again.
What might happen if we actually had the praise of the Lord on our heart as this verse suggests? What if we started this morning with praise on our heart, rejoicing in what God had done for us. Rather than moving on, we took that praise and repeated it over and over again.
The world makes it tough to keep our hearts on God at all times. It often tries to take away those moments of rejoicing in our hearts. But today, make it a point to rejoice and keep rejoicing in what God has done. He is truly worthy of our praise!
