It’s a miracle

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. — Isaiah 1:18

Not long ago, my son and I were walking along, and he noticed something that caught his attention. He immediately pulled on my arm and told me to look. What he saw was not so amazing to me. In fact, I had seen it several times.

But it was important to him. He thought it was incredible. As he described his amazement, he said, “Impossible. That is amazing. It’s a miracle.” In his mind, what he saw was impossible to imagine, but it came to life right in front of his eyes.

That’s how I feel when I read this verse in Isaiah. When I think of all the sins in my life, it is amazing that anyone would love me for what I have done. Yet, that is exactly what God has done.

He took my sins, as terrible as they were, and washed them white as snow. It is a transformation that, in my eyes, looks impossible. Yet, when I think about His forgiveness, I am left saying, “That is amazing, it’s a miracle!”

What in your life makes you feel as though you cannot be forgiven? Are there sins that you feel no one would love you for committing? Those moments may be dark and disappointing. But they can be washed white as snow through the forgiveness God provides. While it may seem impossible, forgiveness is a miracle that you can experience! It is truly amazing!
