And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. — 2 Corinthians 12:9

As I sat down at the table, I watched my son working feverishly on his latest masterpiece. He loves toy blocks, specifically Lego’s, where he can build many of the things he finds in cartoons and movies. He was working on his most recent purchase.

He was looking all around the table, searching for something. The instruction book said he needed one specific thing, but he couldn’t find it. He had searched all over the table, but it didn’t seem to be there. Soon, he asked for my help in searching for this piece. He couldn’t make the assembly complete without it.

That’s often how we are as Christians when we face difficulties in life. We get under the burden and start searching frantically for strength, the piece we deem critical for survival. We often search for it in a lot of different places, but as Paul writes, it isn’t so difficult to locate.

We often talk about the endless supply of grace that is found in God. He is also the source for perfect strength, no matter the trial we face. Need strength to face the enemy? God’s got it. Strength to overcome a challenge? God’s got that, too. Facing sickness or death? No matter what you are facing, God has the strength you need.

Maybe you find yourself struggling for strength today, looking for strength that is a perfect fit for where you need it. No matter what type of strength you need, or how much you need, God has it! Don’t look for it elsewhere. Go to God and trust Him!
