Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. — Psalm 111:1
There are many moments in life when we set out to accomplish things. Perhaps it is a personal goal, professional goal, or just common tasks that we need to do. No matter what you set out to do, the way you approach it matters.
I remember many times in my life when I had something that I needed to do. If it was something that I wanted to do, I put all my heart and effort into it. I spent time on it, cared about it, and focused on it. There are many times I set out to do things that I didn’t want to do as well. In those moments, I often gave the minimum. It was enough to complete the task, but it was far from perfect.
The same goes for our approach to worship and praise of God. The psalmist writes here about praising God but specifically says that he would do it with his whole heart. He was going to spend time on it, focus on it, care about it, and make sure he gave it his all.
That’s how we should approach praising and worshipping God. No matter when or where we have the occasion to praise Him, it should be with all our heart. We shouldn’t hold back and should make sure it is a priority in our lives.
As you examine your life today, is praising God a priority? Are you giving it your all every chance you get? God is worthy of our praise for all of His goodness, mercy, and grace. Today, take a few moments to praise Him. Not just as a routine, but give it your all because that’s what He deserves!
