When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.  — Mark 2:5

If you ask anyone who has kids, they will tell you of all the times that they have to do things for their kids. It is certainly more involved as they are younger. As they grow, they become more self sufficient. But even as an adult, there are times that I will call my parents to ask a question or get information from them that I need.

There are obviously many things that I do not ask my parents to do for me as a grown adult. Even as I started to grow up, I started being self sufficient. I could make meals on my own. Once the time came to drive, I could drive myself wherever I wanted to go. But I’m convinced if I asked my parents for something, they would still do anything they could for me to this day.

This passage always amazes me. It says in verses prior, “they.” It was those around him. Perhaps it was friends, family, or just others that knew who he was. It was those he interacted with. “They” went out of their way to try and help someone else, in faith!

We often see around us that people are passionate about their families, praying for them and exploring any potential help for them. But is our faith in God enough to do that for others around us? Do we have faith that God can intervene and help those who need it most in our society?

Family is certainly important, but what about those we work with? What about those we interact with? Is our faith enough to impact their lives? The faith of the “they” in this story was enough. They impacted this man in an amazing way. Our prayer should be that our faith is strong enough to impact the lives of those around us.

Across the world, Christians need the encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
