Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. — 2 Corinthians 2:11

Anyone who knows me well understands that I love history. I love reading about how our country was founded and the heroic acts of those who fought bravely for our nation. There are many great stories throughout our nation’s history that describe how we overcame obstacle after obstacle. It was by the divine grace of God that our nation is where it is today. God blessed us with many amazing leaders who helped set our nation on the right track.

But those leaders were not perfect people. They didn’t always make the right decisions. In fact, many times, they went through failure before they achieved success. Such is the example of George Washington. There were many times he made wrong decisions on the battlefield that required him to reassess and start over.

Many of our great leaders in battle had one thing in common. They knew the weakness of the enemy. They knew exactly where to strike them and how. That strike may not win the war immediately, but it would help further the cause. That is exactly how the devil works against you and me.

Satan knows our weakness. He knows where he can strike us and how. He understands the things we value. Just when you let your guard down a small bit, that is when he will strike you. But as is written here, we know how Satan works, and we understand he is on the attack.

That is why it is important that we know our weaknesses. Satan is going to go after them, but God has given us all the necessary tools to overcome. We must be on guard, watching, and prepared for any potential strike by the enemy.

Don’t let your guard down against the enemy. Stay close to God. Trust Him and have faith that He will help you overcome. Satan will pull out all the stops to attack your weaknesses. But know your weaknesses, and be prepared for the battle. With God on your side, you can win!

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide.
