He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? — Micah 6:8

Several years ago, I was in a meeting with another leader, and we were discussing some things that concerned us in the company. Change was happening, and there was a lot of uncertainty. As we were talking, the leader looked at me and said, “Let’s go for a little walk.” It was beautiful outside and a great day to enjoy.

As we strolled around the area, we continued to talk. We shared our stories, experiences, and thoughts on the next steps for our organization. Challenges were ahead, and we needed to prepare ourselves to face them. We weren’t certain what might happen, but we were sharing everything on our hearts and minds that day.

There were no major problems solved during that walk. Most of what we did was share how we felt, our concerns, and the challenges we faced. But through that walk, we developed a closeness that has followed us for quite some time. Even to this day, many years later, we remain close friends.

We often talk about what God would require of us, but I think this verse makes it so simple. God wants us to live a just life, to be kind to those around us, and to walk humbly with God. Yes, God wants to walk through life with each of us!

When was the last time you went for a little walk with God? Perhaps you talked with Him about how you feel, your concerns, and life’s challenges. This isn’t a time where you go with a list of demands. Instead, it is a walk with someone you are close to. A friend like no other. Is it time for you to go for a little walk with God?

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
