Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. — Isaiah 40:28
On a few occasions, I have visited the Library of Congress. I have often been amazed at the amount of knowledge amassed there. It’s the largest library in the world, holding millions of books and other works. It’s one of the largest collections of knowledge anywhere in the world.
But as much knowledge as the Library of Congress has, it still lacks. Some things are not present in the Library. Other libraries may have the only copy of some books that exist. The amazing thing is that you could memorize all the knowledge contained in the Library of Congress, but you would still lack the knowledge that God has.
As we read yesterday in this verse, Isaiah wanted our attention. He wanted to make sure that we knew that God was not tired and not stressed with anything going on in our lives. But then he continues by saying that God is infinitely wise. No one can have a full understanding of everything like God.
Our finite minds are incapable of understanding like God. We are only able to understand a small part, while God understands it all. That is more than just an understanding of things in life. God not only understands everything going on around you, but He understands everything that is taking place with you and inside of you.
Maybe there are things in life you struggle with. Perhaps you find yourself battling your mind, trying to understand things or make sense of them. Instead of fighting things on your own, trust them to the one who knows all about it!
Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
