Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. — Isaiah 40:28

On many occasions, I have traveled through various airports across the country. Like most travelers, I was constantly looking for things going on around me. I was looking for my gate, snacks, or even the closest restroom. It’s essential to pay attention so you know that you make it on your flight timely.

It seems like each time that I’m nearing my gate, I start hearing announcements come over the intercom. Usually, the gate agents make announcements, and different agents will start by saying different things. Many of them start by saying the words, “May I have your attention.” In other words, they want you to pay attention to what they are about to say.

That’s almost what I think about the words of Isaiah here. The verse starts out asking have you not known or have you not heard. The idea is that either you have had the experience of it, and if not, Isaiah wants your attention! He’s making an announcement of importance.

His announcement to the people is a wonderful reminder to us today. God, the Creator, the everlasting God, He is not faint and is not weary. Nothing in your life has caught Him by surprise. He wasn’t sleeping when it started. He was paying attention the entire time. Never once has He let anyone down due to being tired.

So don’t have any doubts about things in your life today. Even if the world seems to be crumbling around you, God is still in control. He’s actively working, even though we may not see it. We just need to trust Him with whatever is going on.

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
