Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. — Matthew 24:42

Last year, my family and I were on vacation and had made plans to stop in the northern part of Florida for one night to enjoy some time at the beach. My son has a fascination with sand and water, and it was the perfect stop during our trip. Not long after we arrived, I started looking through my phone for things to do in this area. One website said it was the perfect place to see rocket launches from a distance.

I figured there was probably little chance of us being there on the same day as a rocket launch. But sure enough, one was planned that evening. So we made plans to head out to the beach and find a spot to see if we could see the rocket along with everyone else.

The launch was planned to happen around 7:20 that evening. But 7:20 came and went, with no sign of the rocket. I remember asking my son repeatedly, “Are you watching?” Soon, we saw it streak across the sky. We knew the rocket was going to launch. But if we had relied on the times we found, we would have missed it.

The Bible tells us that our Savior is coming again. Matthew 24 reminds us that no man knows the hour or the day, but we do know that He is coming! So we are told to watch. The world continues to act like nothing is going to happen, but soon, Jesus will return!

Are we watching, and are we ready? Are we living our lives as if Jesus could return today? The truth is that He could! The Bible says Jesus is coming. We should be looking for Him as if He is coming today. Are you watching?

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
