On a recent trip, I remember looking around the hotel for what I might find in the room. Typically, you will find things like a small refrigerator, a hair dryer, or even a pen and paper that have been left for convenience. Another thing that I always look for is the Bibles that are placed in hotels by Gideon’s International.
This trip caught me a little by surprise, however. I did find the Bible, but next to it, I found two other books. One was the Book of Mormon, and the second was the Quran. For many years, the only book that you would see besides the Bible was perhaps a guide to a hotel or area.
As I sat and thought about what I had just seen, I couldn’t help but rejoice in my heart. For those who follow those religions, those are key books. They live by them, read them, follow them, and study them. They can tell you keywords and phrases from each one.
But my Bible is very clear that there is only one Holy Bible. No other book can replace it or compare to it. No matter how many times the Devil would like to imitate the Bible, he never can and never will. He may deceive many people around the world with various substitutes, but there is no replacement for God’s Holy Word.
We are blessed to have the ability to read God’s word at any time. Many homes have multiple copies; nowadays, digital copies are readily available on any device. Never has the word of God been so easily available to all who want to read it. Rejoice that you have the ability to read the true word of God and not settle for a substitute of this world.
