We were standing in the store, and I looked at my son. He had found several things that he wanted to buy. In his eyes, he needed them all. But I said what many parents often say, “You can pick one.”
He immediately went into decision mode. He had to make a decision about which one he wanted more. He asked if he could get them both. I reminded him that he could have just one. I could see the perplexity on his face as his mind raced to make a decision. Soon, he selected the one thing he wanted to buy.
Life often presents us with many different choices. Some of those decisions seem minor in comparison to others. For example, it probably will not alter your life if you choose the blue car or the green one. You will also most likely not find your life in peril for choosing black socks versus gray socks.
But there is one decision that we must all face that is life-changing. We are each given the choice to accept Jesus Christ as Savior or to reject Him as Savior. He never forces Himself on anyone. It’s a decision that we all get to freely make. Which means that we each must ask ourselves the question, what would you rather have?
Nothing can replace Jesus, and nothing compares to Jesus. The world would love to offer you millions of other things to replace Jesus in your life. But the decision is one that we all must make for ourselves. Do we want what the world has to offer, or would we rather have Jesus? What would you rather have?
