For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears. Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus. — 2 Corinthians 7:5-6

Not too long ago, I had one of those weeks. You know what I am talking about. It was the type of week where if something could go wrong, it did. It was one of those weeks that went beyond the typical weekly struggle. This one was a doozy.

There are those times in life when we seem to find ourselves facing trouble on every side. You go one way, seeking relief from the trouble, and find more trouble. The bills seem to keep piling up. The sickness seems it will never end. Your job keeps pressing you harder, and it seems the bad news keeps on coming.

All you want is to find a place to get a break from what is happening. That’s what Paul describes here. He came to Macedonia and was looking for relief. He was facing opposition on the outside and fear and anxiety on the inside. It was one of those weeks for Paul!

But he continues in verse 6 and shares the comfort that God sent in his friend Titus. Titus was the one who Paul called his son in the faith. God knew that Paul needed encouragement and comfort to continue on. Why? Because God is the one who sends comfort to those who are cast down as Paul says.

I am so thankful that we serve a God who sends comfort to those in need. In those moments you find yourself facing one of those weeks, He knows exactly what you need to help strengthen you and comfort you along the way. Maybe you find yourself facing one of those weeks now. Don’t give up hope. We serve a God of comfort, and He knows exactly what you need!

Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
