Anger is an emotion that we all may face. The Bible has suggestions for how to deal with anger. These are some of our favorites.
Our prayer is that the verses below will help you. Remember that God is ready and able to help you if you are dealing with anger. He can help you change your mindset to one of love and peace.
Psalm 37:8 – Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
James 1:19 – Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
Ephesians 4:25-27 – Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.
Matthew 5:22-24 – But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Proverbs 14:29 – He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
Ecclesiastes 7:9 – Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.
Proverbs 15:18 – A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
Ephesians 4:31-32 –Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Colossians 3:8 – But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Proverbs 29:22 – An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
