And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life. — Revelation 21:27

There it was. In the proper place on the list of those who were set to graduate from the university. I’ll never forget the day that the information was sent out from my college. I had spent years working toward my degree and the day finally came when my name was on the list of graduates.

Of course, that’s not the only list my name has ever been on. I remember times when my name was put on lists of those who had yet to complete mandatory training at work. There were times when I was younger it was listed on a sports team roster. If you are like me, you can no doubt think of many times your name has been listed in various places.

Years later, very few people remember my name being in those lists or in the books that they were contained in. Those training classes are long over. The games I played are long over. My graduation is long over. Those places where my name appeared did not matter very much.

In the Bible, we read about one place we certainly want our name listed. It’s a place where when our name is placed, it will never be removed. Once it is placed in that book, it has life-long implications. Not just our life here, but our life into eternity.

When you accept Jesus Christ, your name is placed into the Lamb’s book of life. No one can remove your name from it. You will never be overlooked or forgotten. If the book was opened today, would you find your name on the list? If you have accepted Jesus Christ, rejoice for your name is written there!
