When God doesn’t remove your trial

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. — Psalm 55:22

We often talk talk about how we should cast our cares before the Lord and share with Him all the things that are affecting our lives. It is true, God wants to hear about the things that concern us. That may be the idea that you get from this verse when you initially read it, but it is much deeper.

If you study the original writings, the meaning of what the psalmist is saying is to “give God what He has already allowed to be placed upon you.” It is the idea that nothing comes to you until after it has already come through God.

We can certainly relate this back to Scripture in the book of Job, where God actually suggests Job as a subject for Satan’s trials and tribulations. God did not cause the issues in Job’s life, but He did allow them to take place. He knew the trials and heartache that Job would face and allowed it to take place.

God does not always end the things that we may face in our life. He will not remove our trails and tribulations. He may not always end our heartaches and suffering. Yet, He provides strength and grace for you to be able to handle the things that may come into your life.

He does this so we can grow and continue to develop our faith as Christians. He wants us to see that He is the source of strength and grace. Do not expect that God will always remove the situation, but trust that He wants you to bring the trials of life to Him so that He can give strength and grace.
