Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. — Psalm 128:4
Recently, I was thinking back about many year ago in my life. I thought about my prior jobs, prior experiences, and all the many things that God has brought me through. I have been through so many things and through it all, God has been faithful.
But many times, I did not always see the blessings of God in my life. I often looked back on things as a burden or punishment. I had many jobs that I did not like. I remember many experiences that were unpleasant. God designed my life with the experiences and circumstances that I needed to bring me through and make me who I am today.
In this verse of Psalm 128, the psalmist writes behold, or look. He’s referring to the prior verses. He had just wrote about working, family, and home. He wrote about things that often challenge many of us because we become distracted with the challenges of life.
Because of those challenges, we often overlook the simple blessings of God. The blessings of a home, blessings of having a job, blessings of being able to work, the blessings of our children, and more.
We are each given moments and time each day to serve God in a great way with many blessings that we often take for granted. While the challenges of life may be difficult, don’t let them get in the way of your enjoyment of the blessings of God!
