For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? — Mark 8:36
Not long ago, I was among a group of people that were talking. There were multiple conversations going on around me, and soon, I found myself in the middle of multiple conversations. My attention was drawn by someone who made a statement that took me back in time. The person made a comment about what time it was and that all is well.
Quickly my mind went back to a cartoon that I recall when I was much younger. There are many who may remember the cartoon movie Robin Hood where a security guard, after a security walk, loudly announces the time. He follows that by saying the words, “All is well.” It was meant to share with everyone nearby that nothing appeared out of the ordinary.
While this was in a cartoon, life is certainly not a fictional story. Each of us live a very real life with very real circumstances. Each of us are born in a world that is filled with sin. There is no difference between us, we all need a Savior.
The difference in life comes when we consider if all is well in our lives. So many are focused on all the pleasures of this world, rather than the condition of their soul. If we have never accepted Jesus as Savior, we cannot proclaim that all is well in our lives.
If you examine your heart today, can you say that all is well? Have you accepted Jesus as Savior? Have you devoted your heart and life in service to God? For all to be well in your life, it takes a personal relationship with Jesus. As the verse says, there is no profit in this world if your soul is lost and all is not well!
