Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. — Psalm 27:7
During my years of traveling around the country, I think I spent more nights away from home than at home. It was common for me to leave on a Sunday evening and come home late Thursday or Friday. Then, I would do it again the following week. There were many days I spent traveling and talking to others on airplanes, in airports, or in the places I was working as I traveled.
At the end of the day, I would call my wife. While I was away from home, we always made it a point to talk a few times each day. Sometimes the conversations were short, while at others, they were long. But what I always enjoyed was to hear her voice. I couldn’t be there in person, but just knowing she was still there meant the world.
As we all travel through life, there are many times we face challenges and circumstances that test us beyond measure. The Bible often describes it as we are pilgrims on this earth. We are strangers traveling through. Which means we are away from our true home.
Sometimes, we find ourselves needing to make a call back home. As I think of this verse, I often think back to those times of travel. I would call my wife and want to speak, and all I wanted her to do was answer. There are times when life is that way.
Maybe you find yourself in one of those moments, and all you need is to hear from your Heavenly Father. You need to call home and talk to the one who holds the whole world in His hands. Thankfully, we have a Heavenly Father who wants to hear from us and talk with us!
Call on God today and tell Him you need to hear from Him. Let Him know all that is going on, and find comfort in knowing He will hear you. Chances are that you will find yourself saying, “It’s good to hear from you, Lord.”
Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
