So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. — Genesis 1:27
If you were to ask anyone who knows me, they would tell you that I look eerily similar to my dad. If you were to compare photos of him when he was my age, it would be remarkable. While we would certainly not pass for identical twins, we have so many similarities.
We have those similarities because we are family. If you study the science behind it, we share DNA. In our chemical makeup, many things cause us to be similar in appearance. We each have our own personality, with our own tendencies in how we react. Yet, we still look similar.
But more than just me and my father looking similar, I have a brother who shares some of the same traits as well. Go to our extended family, and you will find many more who share our last name with many of the same traits as well. You can take one look at us, and chances are you will know that we are related and share some of the same chemical makeup.
In Genesis 1, we read about how God created man and woman. A lot of people want to get caught up on the gender topic given situations in our day, but we often overlook such an amazing thought. We were created in the image, or likeness, of God! In other words, when you look at us, we should see God.
Our lives were designed to be connected to God from the very beginning. From the foundations of the world, God intended for our lives to be intimately associated with Him. So much so that just simply looking at us, someone should see the reflection of God in us.
We were each made in the likeness of God, but does that show through? If others look at us, can they see the connection we have to our Creator? Our lives should be so intimately attached to God that when others see us, they can’t help but see God!
Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
