Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? — Psalm 139:7
On many occasions in my life, I have had to watch people go where I could not go. For example, I remember the couple of times I had to watch my wife be rolled back for surgery behind the doors that were marked staff only. I couldn’t be there to support her or care for her like I wanted.
Then, there were a couple of times I watched my son be rolled back for his surgeries as he received his cochlear implants. As a parent, there is never a moment that I don’t want to be there for my son. But at that moment, I watched as they took him, rolling him through the doors that said “staff only” as he went where I could not go.
There are times in life when we may face circumstances and situations where we cannot go with others, or others may not be able to go with us. Those moments can lead to us being filled with fear, uncertainty, or even having feelings of being alone. It could happen at work, at home, in the hospital, on the battlefield, or in dozens of other places in our lives.
But are we truly alone? Absolutely not! In Psalm 139, David shares the truth. There is nowhere we can go that God is not there. In every secure location, behind every closed door, and in every lonely situation in life, God’s presence is there!
Are you facing a circumstance where you feel alone? Do you have friends or family that are in a place you wish you could be there for them, but you cannot? Thankfully, we know one who is there with them! He has never forsaken anyone, and he won’t start today. Even if no one else can go, He can, and He will!
Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
