Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. — Psalm 24:8
One of the statements that my son quickly learned to say as he was learning to speak was “Who are you?” He sometimes struggled with the proper context in which to say it. For example, I may walk into the house after a day of work and he would look at me and say “Who are you?” I would answer appropriately that I was his father. He would look at me so confused.
As he got a little older and understood more, he would ask the same question about other people. He would sometimes look at me or my wife and say, “Who are you” while pointing at others. He wanted to know who they were and understand what they were doing. He was trying to learn more about them.
It seems that we live in a day where people around us are asking a similar question about God. They want to question His existence, His purpose, His plan, and His power. They often ask, “Who is God?” I’m so glad we do not have to look very far for that answer!
Throughout scripture, we learn about God. We learn about how God created the world. We learn about how He cared for and loves His own. How He sent His only Son to die for our sins. In this Psalm, David speaks of God’s strength, His might, and the victory that can be found in God alone.
But who is God to you? If you were asked to describe God, how would you describe Him? Would He be strong, mighty, and victorious as David describes? Or would you struggle to share with others who God is? God wants to have a close relationship with us so that we know more about Him and can easily tell others who He is!
Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
