Know Christ

There are five important things that you should know:

1. You need to know that you are a sinner and cannot save yourself.

Romans 3:11 — There is none righteous, no, not one.

Romans 3:23 — For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Ephesians 2:8-9 — For by grace are ye saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast.

You need to know that we are all sinners in need of a Savior, and we cannot do enough good works to make ourselves right with God.

2. You need to know that God loves you and desires to save you.

John 3:16 — For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 John 4:10 — Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

You need to know that God’s amazing love was demonstrated for us all in sending His Son to die on the cross for our sins.

3. You need to know that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation.

John 14:6 — Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Acts 4:12 — Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

You need to know that Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved. It isn’t in good deeds, religious activities, or anything else, but by Jesus Christ alone.

4. You need to know that you must repent of your sins in order to be saved.

1 John 1:9 — If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Acts 20:21 — Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

You need to know that for us to be saved we must confess ourselves a sinner, asking God to forgive us of our sins and make us one of His children.

5. You need to know that accepting or refusing God’s salvation determines your eternal destiny.

John 3:36 — He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Hebrews 2:3 — How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation.

You need to know that the choice you make in this life of accepting Christ or rejecting Christ determines where you spend eternity. If you reject Him here, you will not get a second chance once you die.

The choice is yours. God loves you and sent His Son to die for you, but He will not force you to accept Him. Why not admit you’re a sinner, confess your sins and accept Him as your Savior today?
