God’s amazing grace

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. — 1 Corinthians 15:10

Recently, our family was in a church service and the music leader was leading our church in different songs. After a few different songs were sung, we came upon a familiar tune that many of us have sung for our entire lives. Amazing Grace.

Many times as we sing these old hymns, we often just go through the words from memory. But my son was intent on reading the words in the hymnal as he continues to learn to read. As I took my finger to lead him through the pages and following along with the singing, I couldn’t help but reflect on the impact of God’s amazing grace in my life.

The story of grace’s impact in my life began with the amazing grace of God that saved me many years ago. Grace has certainly guided me through many fears, bringing relief in the midst of troubles. But the impact of grace certainly goes beyond that.

As the words say, the dangers, toils, and snares of this life often come upon me. Never once has God’s grace failed me. Sure, those trials may have lasted longer than I wanted them to, but God’s grace was present and efficient throughout!

Today, take a moment to reflect on God’s amazing grace and its impact on your life. Just as this verse says, it is by the grace of God that I am what I am today. I imagine the same goes for you as well. Praise God for His amazing grace!
