But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. — Luke 10:40
“Do you not care” is a bold question to ask of anyone. Yet, Martha asked that very question of Jesus here in Luke 10:40. She was frustrated at this moment and it came out in her words. We all have this tendency at times.
Life was not going as she thought it should. She was busy around the house and no one was helping, especially her sister Mary. In her frustration, she asked the question, “do you not care?”
It can be easy for us to get to this point in our lives. Work can frustrate us. Sickness can overwhelm us. Many different challenges of life can bring us to a point where we find ourselves asking of God, “do you not care?”
It is in those moments we must remember 1 Peter 5:7, that we can cast all our cares upon Him because He cares for us! Though we may get frustrated and feel as though He doesn’t care, He does! He cares more than you could ever realize!
Maybe you find yourself in one of those moments today. Perhaps you even muttered those words, “God, do you not care?” While the challenges of life may make it difficult to see, God still loves you and cares about what you are going through. Yes, the God who is in control of everything, He cares for you!
