The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle. — Psalm 78:9
Not long ago, I set out on a drive across town. I had put the address into my phone and connected it to my vehicle so it could give me directions. As I started down the road, I quickly became distracted by things around me.
It was a beautiful sunny day and there were a lot of things going on. I somewhat knew where I was going and that it wasn’t in the best part of town. But because I was distracted, I missed my turn.
At that moment, I had done everything right. I was in my vehicle. I had been following directions. But because I let things around me distract me, I went the wrong way and ended up having to turn around.
The same thing often happens in life. We attempt to prepare ourselves for the battle of life. We say things like we are ready to stand for God no matter what. But when the battle begins, we become distracted by things and we end up turning around.
As you reflect on your life today, have you turned around on God? Did you set out well, but found yourself distracted, discouraged, or even afraid of things around you? Today is a great day to get back on track. Run back to God and let Him guide you.
