Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; — Hebrews 6:19
It wasn’t so long ago that I set about my day. I had a schedule that I intended to follow. But not long after, my day was suddenly changed.
A phone call came in that required me to change my entire plans. Instead of working quietly in my office, I had to drive across town and deal with something that wasn’t so pleasant to deal with. It brought chaos into my day.
Does your life always go as planned? It never does. As you go about life, things happen. The unexpected diagnosis that changes your life happens. The financial struggles happen. You lose trust in those you thought you could trust forever.
Thankfully, that is not the end of the story. In this verse, we are reminded that we have a hope as the anchor of our soul. That hope is not in the things of this world. Instead, it’s in the one who controls this world!
The things of this world can often distract us, causing us to lose sight of the one who is the anchor of our soul. Don’t lose sight of Him. Instead, hold tight and let Him bring peace to your life.
