For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. — Philippians 2:13
Life is filled with conflict. We often face conflict between ourselves and others. We may face conflict in the workplace or at home. But many times, the majority of the conflict we face is within ourselves.
The conflict presents between the choices we must make each day. We face the influence of the world and all that Satan wants to tempt us with. We face the temptations and the pressures that life brings about, influencing each decision and causing us inner conflict.
This conflict can often be overwhelming. Our sin nature causes us to often fail to live up to the expectations of others and of God. We often lose sight of who is working within us because we fail to let Him have His way with our lives.
This verse reminds us that it is God that works in our lives. While we may face temptations and inner conflict, we can overcome it with the help of God. He will never lead us astray. Everything that comes into our lives has a purpose for good, but it requires us to submit to the will of God.
The conflict will never go away, but you can overcome it with a focus on God’s will in your life. Trust in God, follow Him, and He will not lead you astray.
