He keeps His promises

I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. — Genesis 9:13

Not long after my family and I moved to Florida, I learned a lot of things about living in this new state. The first thing I learned is that it gets quite hot in Florida. The heat can be brutal. Perhaps one of the other things I learned very quickly was about the rain.

Rain is not something new in my life. Growing up in Western North Carolina and living in various places we have over the years, I have experienced all sorts of storms and rain. Here in Florida, it rains nearly every day. Typically, it is not just a short shower or an all-day rain event. It is more like torrential downpours that cause roads to flood and dangerous driving conditions.

Nearly every time after it rains, I always start looking up at the sky. The thunder may be loud and the lightning flashing, but after nearly every rain, you can find some of the biggest and most beautiful rainbows that you will ever see.

I was not alive when Noah built the ark and went through the flood. None of us were. Yet, we can all see the promise that God made is still present today. The rainbows are evidence that God doesn’t just say things. He keeps His promises!

Throughout the Bible, we read countless promises. Perhaps you are even thinking of one right now. You can hold to the promises of God. They will stand the test of time, and He always keeps His promises!
