Several years ago, I was in the middle of a good day. I still remember how excellent the day was. It was a warm, sunny day and it seemed that all was going right. Suddenly, I was caught off guard with a phone call. It was a call I hadn’t expected and the person on the other end had some bad news to share.
Soon, I heard the story about a friend who was struggling. Their family had received some bad news and it would change the course of their life for the foreseeable future. My heart was broken for them and while things about the day naturally remained the same, the day was no longer the same for me.
This is certainly how life can go in many instances. Just when you think things are going well, something happens that seems to ruin the day. It could be something that happens personally or even to a close friend or loved one. No matter the case, there is a bright spot for a ruined day.
The difficulties of this world will not last forever. In fact, they are only temporary. For Christians, there is a future ahead where these heartaches, sorrows, and troubles of life are all gone! One day soon, Jesus will return for those remaining, and the sorrows of this life will be no more.
Do the cares and struggles of life have you down? Perhaps your day has been ruined by bad news and circumstances. Take courage; this is not the final chapter of the story. If you need a bright spot for a ruined day, remember this life is the worst it will be for us, as Heaven lies ahead!
