For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. — Romans 10:13

There is a lot of talk about equity in our day. We often hear mainstream media tell us that we need to strive to treat everyone the same. Often, we are told that regardless of someone’s decisions in their lives, we should allow them to exist and treat them as whatever they decide they want to be.  While those conversations are often politically and sinfully charged, there are some aspects of equity that we should consider as Christians.

For example, Christians should consider and lead the way in equal treatment of all. What I mean by that is that we realize that all people, no matter their background, ideas, etc., have a need for a Savior. In the verse before this, we read that it doesn’t matter if the person is Jew or Greek, they still need Jesus.

In other words, in our hearts, we are all equal. There is equity of the heart among anyone that lives in this world. We are all sinners. We all need a Savior. No matter the age, no matter the background, skin color, financial standing, or anything else, we all need a Savior.

In fact, we can go one step further to say that there is no difference between the worst of sinners and us. As a Christian, the only difference is that we have accepted Jesus as Savior. Then, our desire should be that others see us not as perfect, but as forgiven.

Do we set an example in front of others so that they see our hearts are equal? By our actions, can others see that we are all sinners, but that we have accepted Jesus as Savior? Today, as you interact with those around you, remember there is no difference. Our hearts are all the same. We all need a Savior! Treat them in a way that they see the Savior in you.

Across the world, Christians need the encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
