For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD. — Psalm 117:2
Few things in life last forever. Just looking at our own lives, we know that we will not live in this world forever. We get older, our bodies begin to fail, and we will pass away. We may leave behind a memory that will linger for some time. But even that fades as others begin to move on with their lives.
But the things of this world definitely do not last. Things are made cheaper. Efficiency is sought in manufacturing and it can often seem like it sacrifices quality. What used to last decades might last just a few short months or years now. If it doesn’t break, it will begin to decay and break down.
But one thing that will never decay is the truth of God. From the foundations of the world, God’s truth has been present. His word has been preserved and it will continue to last until the end of this world. But so many are not focused on this permanent truth. Instead, they are focused on building a life on anything but the truth.
Satan would love nothing more than you to build your life on the things of this world. He would love for you to stake your faith on the actions and words of someone else. He wants you to be deceived, having a life based on lies and deception. But we should seek a life of truth.
Our actions should be founded on the word of God. Our speech should reflect the character of God. In all that we do, our lives should be a reflection of the truth of God. If you examine your heart today, are you living a life of truth, or is your life founded on the lies of the world? Don’t found your life on things that are temporary. The truth of God will endure forever.
Across the world, Christians need the encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
