Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high. — Psalm 113:5

With my love of history, I will often find myself going to see unique things. I could spend hours inside of museums, such as the Smithsonian buildings in Washington D.C. There is something amazing about seeing artifacts from our nation’s history that I have read about or can imagine being used by those of days gone by. Many of these artifacts are one of a kind.

There are also times that I have been traveling and had the opportunity to see unique things in other countries. Things that we perhaps would take for granted in the United States, but these people see them as extremely unique. They are passionate about these things and they will often refer to them as one of a kind.

It is true that our world is filled with many unique things. But the things in this world that are unique will not last forever. Natural disasters have destroyed many. Decay over time will destroy many more. While these things are one of a kind, and all efforts are made to protect them, there are still risks.

But that is not the case with God! There is nothing and no one that compares to Him. He is unique, unparalleled, unmatched, and unable to be duplicated. Nothing can imitate God. Nothing can overpower Him either! Just the thought of this led to the psalmist asking the question, “Who is like our God?”

The answer was easy, but gives us an amazing thought to rejoice in today. There is no one like our God. He truly is one of a kind. Best of all, He loves us and knows us. He will always be in control. He is our God and there is no one like Him!

Across the world, Christians need the encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide.
