And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. — Matthew 8:25
One time, I had the opportunity to ride offroad vehicles through the desert of Arizona. We were in a 4-person vehicle, and several of us were able to take turns driving. I loved getting to drive the vehicle up the rocky terrain and across the winding paths. But soon, my turn was over and I had to let someone else drive. The experience in the back seat of the vehicle was much different from that of the front.
Once I sat down in the vehicle and was strapped in, we quickly took off. It wasn’t but a few minutes later and I started to become a little more nervous. I wasn’t nervous because of the vehicle’s inability to cross the rocks or navigate the terrain. I even trusted the people that I was in the vehicle with.
The problem that I had was I couldn’t see anything. Each bump, each turn, and each dip took me by surprise. The dust was flying all over my goggles and across my face. The dirt was so intense, I could barely breathe. I had to trust that the person driving was in control.
There are so many times in our lives when we are unable to see what is going on around us. Perhaps the storm is raging. There are mountains to climb, valleys to cross, and, at times, challenges we never anticipated overcoming. But we have to trust it is all under control!
Never once has our situation or circumstance overwhelmed God. He was not worried about it. We may feel like we are going to go under, but it is all under control! No matter what you are facing in your life, remember He has it under control. Put your faith in God and trust Him. He will never let you down!
Across the world, Christians need the encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue its work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
