There are many times that I reflect on the time just after I met my wife. We weren’t teenagers, but we were far from the adults we are today. I remember not long after we met, we became pretty serious in our dating. We were talking about our faith, family thoughts, and future ideas. Not only that, but we also talked about how much we loved one another.
I will never forget many of the thoughts that went through my mind just before that though. There was no doubt in my mind how much I cared for her. I believed she was the one God had for me to spend my life with, but I wasn’t sure if she felt the same.
We may have said the words, “I love you” to each other, but did she really love me? Did she feel the same way that I did? But amid all that doubt, I was reminded that she did indeed love me. Not only did she tell me, but she showed me.
Many times in our lives, we may wonder why God loves us. We may find ourselves in times of silence, times of struggle, heartache, or storms beyond what we think we can bear. Perhaps we doubt that God truly loves us.
But then I’m reminded that nothing is stressing God. Amid all the things we face, God rests in His love for us. We may not physically see Him, but we can see God’s love all around us. He shows us through His word and through His actions everyday. Even when we may doubt it.
Maybe you are facing a moment you are doubting that God does love you, or can love you. No matter the circumstances, trials, storms, or thoughts you are having, never doubt God’s love. He loves you and nothing will stop that.
