But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity. — 1 Thessalonians 3:6

Since moving away from the area that I grew up in, it isn’t uncommon for someone to call me to share news. For example, a friend or family member will often call and say something that starts with, “Do you remember?” followed by someone’s name. There are many times that someone calls to share good news, but far too often it is bad news.

While I may not always see those people day to day, it is always nice to hear how they are doing. They were an important piece of my life in the past. Like most people, I want to hear that they are doing well. I would never wish anything bad on them. But most importantly, it allows me to pray for them, even though I may not be there to support them.

When Timothy visited Paul, he shared some good news about the people from Thessalonica. He shared about their faith and their love. What an amazing thing to be known for! They were known for their faith and love. It wasn’t a bad news story being shared. Timothy was sharing good news!

If others share your story, what would it be? Would it just be bad news, or would it be a story of faith and love? Would someone share how you were staying the course and living for God? Or would it be another story of someone who has lost their way and given up?

Our desire should be that our story is not another bad news story. Our world is filled with those. We need our lives to be a story and message of hope. A story so others can see that you can make it through this world with God. Our world needs faithful Christians who will live their lives by faith and with love.

Across the world, Christians need the encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue its work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
