Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy. — Psalm 107:2

Recently, I was driving down a highway when I saw a sign, “authorized vehicles only.” The area beyond the sign was restricted to any vehicle that was not authorized to be in the area. Below the words were listed a law, that implied that if you were to proceed beyond that point, you could be charged by law enforcement.

My vehicle was certainly qualified to be on the highway. It was inspected in the state of North Carolina. In that inspection, I was told that it met all the qualifications to be a vehicle operated on various highways. The equipment on my car was all in operating condition. Based on the sign, however, I still did not have the necessary authorization to proceed in that restricted area.

While I don’t know what necessarily qualified me to be an “authorized vehicle,” I do know what it means when it says “let the redeemed of the LORD say so.” The idea is that those who have been redeemed are authorized to claim it. It is a special privilege afforded to those who have been redeemed.

It is not in anything that we have done. Not a single one of us could have done enough to redeem ourselves for all our sins. But Jesus paid the price for us. We were all given the opportunity to be redeemed, by accepting Jesus as Savior.

If you examine your heart, are you authorized? Have you accepted Jesus Christ as Savior so that you can tell the world you are one of His children? If you are, praise Him today. Let the world know you have been redeemed! If you are not, today would be a great day to accept Jesus as your Savior.

Across the world, Christians need the encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
