But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. — Luke 1:13
The recent COVID pandemic certainly changed a lot of things in our society. I will never forget the day I received the phone call and was told I should not return to the office. The company had invested in video conferencing software. They would install it remotely, which would allow us to continue working.
For months, I conducted meetings with my coworkers and teams remotely. One thing that I learned quickly was that video conferencing software is nothing like meeting in person. You could easily read expressions and body language in person. But over the video, that was nearly impossible. Not to mention the occasional delay in the software.
This led to me attempting to speak many times but not being heard. Others would try to speak, but the software may not pick them up because of the sound of others talking. With all the various people that were trying to talk, there were moments I wanted to give up on trying. There was no way I would ever be heard!
Could you imagine if that is how we have to talk to God? What if we have to wait our turn, waiting for God to pay attention to us one by one so we can speak with Him in prayer? How miserable that would be! Thankfully, that is not the case.
As Christians, we can take comfort in knowing that God has heard our prayers. He may not answer them as quickly as we want or in the way that we want, but He has heard them. Do not fear that God is not listening. He has heard you and He loves you and cares for you. Trust in His timing and His will.
Across the world, Christians need the encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue its work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
