For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. — 1 Thessalonians 4:16

One of the things that we fear the most in life seems to be death. Now, I understand there are a few people who don’t fear death, but many do, and they seem to approach it from different extremes. There are those who are super focused on their own personal health. They watch every single calorie or workout with intensity, hoping it helps them be healthier.

Then, there are those who spend money on home remedies, doctor visits, medications, or dozens of other things that promise them a long life. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with taking care of yourself and your body, not at all. But many times, it is done from the aspect of fear.

We all know that from the time we are born, our journey takes us to our death. Apart from the Lord’s return, it is our guaranteed destination. But why do we fear when we know the final chapter of the story?

Even if we die in this world, as a believer, it is not the end. In fact, it’s just the beginning. Our bodies will be made new. We regain our health and strength and will never deal with the troubles and cares of this world ever again! It is an assurance that we can only have when we are believers.

Why do we fear death? It is just part of the story. Instead of fearing death, our focus should be on living for God with all the time we have. Our desire should be to serve Him, pointing others to Christ so that they, too, can enjoy eternal life.

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
