Tell the good news!

Tell the good news!

Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household. — 2 Kings 7:9

I’ll never forget some of the times in my life I had good news to share. I remember the day I learned I had passed my paramedic exam. Several phone calls were made to share the good news that I was now a certified paramedic! It was an exciting day.

There was also the day that I asked my wife to marry me. I remember leaving home and going to pick her up. I was pretty confident that she would say yes. As soon as she did, I wanted to tell everyone. Soon, she was going to be my wife.

But most importantly, there was the day when I accepted Jesus as Savior. I remember wanting to tell everyone. I was no longer worried about my future. Without a doubt, I knew that I was forgiven of my sins, and my eternal destination was changed forever.

Each of us has these types of moments in our lives. More than just the exciting life moments, we all have times when God has done something for us. Perhaps it was salvation, maybe it was healing, or maybe it was a time when He drew close to you in a time of need. Those are highlights of our lives, but are we sharing that with others?

When God does something in our lives, it’s a great day. Our verse shares it’s a day of good tidings. We shouldn’t hold our peace. Instead, we should tell the good news! We should tell others what God has done and is doing in our lives. Don’t let a moment to brag on God pass you by. Are you telling others the good news?

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
