What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? — Luke 15:4

When I first started becoming involved in emergency services, I volunteered on a local rescue squad. Not long after I joined, I remember we were called due to a lost child. The child had wandered away from home and was in the woods, unable to be found. The call came in for a search and rescue of the child.

When we arrived at the home of the parents, the leader of the event was already there. He was asking questions, gathering information, and soon called for a preparation meeting. We all met outside, were shown a photo of the boy, given his name and information, and given key details to remain safe while we searched for him.

Like many others, I was not completely trained in search and rescue. This was the first time I had ever been in this situation before. It was vitally important that we were conducting the search, but the search would have been pointless if we were not prepared.

As Christians, our goal in life should be to lead others to Christ. Our heart’s desire should be that we live a life in front of others so that they see Christ through us and want to accept Him as Savior. But how can we reach others for Christ if we do not prepare?

We can’t expect to reach others if we don’t live a life close to God, reading His word and talking to Him in prayer. We can never expect to reach the lost if we don’t talk to them about Jesus. Are you prepared to look for someone to share Jesus with today?

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
