They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him. — Psalm 49:6-7
On many occasions, I have found myself wandering through random museums, historical sites, or stores. It was often a way to pass the time as I traveled the country, but I do enjoy getting to see and learn about a variety of things. I remember one such store, where it was filled with very expensive items.
One of the workers in the store began to tell me about how expensive and rare the items were. They were only found in this specific part of the country. They couldn’t be replicated. They could only be found naturally. Plus, they only found so many per year as they explored the region.
When I started asking questions, he began to explain that since the items were so rare, they were expensive. He said only the richest people in the world could afford to have the nicest ones. They would often buy them, and display them in private collections, being a prized jewel to them.
People of this world often build their wealth and buy things such as this, but the Bible is clear that money cannot buy everything. You can have all the riches of the world, but you cannot buy redemption. Each of us are sinners, needing a Savior, and the only way is through the free gift of Jesus Christ.
The gift that we have been given, redemption through Jesus Christ, is priceless! No matter how much money any of us may have, the gift is worth more than we have! Praise God for this precious gift today and rejoice in your Redeemer and Savior. If you don’t know Jesus as Savior, find out more about how you can today!
Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
