Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. — John 20:29

One of my son’s favorite things to do is to see things around him. Ever since we adopted him in China, he always wants to see anything and everything. He often asks me to pick him up and hold him higher if he is too short to see. He will often climb onto something to see or reach things.

If you point something out to him, he is going to look feverishly for it. For example, I recently pointed out an airplane taking off at the airport near a store we were at. He stopped in the middle of the parking lot and refused to move until he saw the airplane. He wants to see anything and everything.

But sometimes, we cannot always see the things happening around us. Things are happening that influence our lives in so many different ways. Yet, we don’t always see those things happening. God is often working in our lives long before we ever see it.

It certainly would have been easy to trust God if we were to have seen the miracles in person. If we were to have seen Jesus after His resurrection, we no doubt would have an easier time believing. Yet, we are told to have faith. Faith in one that we have never seen with our own eyes.

Just because we have not seen God with our physical eyes does not mean we have not seen Him with our spiritual eyes. Through faith, we can see God at work in our lives. You may not see Him at work right now, but He is. He is already actively working in your life.

Just because you may not be able to see God at work right now, don’t lose faith. Think back on all those times when you have seen Him do great things. In those moments of seeing God through faith, you can be reminded that He is at work. Sometimes we just have to have faith until we can see God’s hand at work.

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
